Steinhaus Original is the fulfilment of a dream over 20 years in the making. Inspired by his early training under renowned Austrian chef and pâtissier Ernst Fössl, founder Jürgen set out to create a dining experience that blends the heart of traditional German hospitality with the generous warmth of home.
Steinhaus Original brings back the charm of slow dining—where food, music, service, and atmosphere echo a more gracious time. Set within a striking and character-rich stone building in the picturesque Southern Highlands, Steinhaus Original celebrates the region’s finest. Every dish is crafted with locally sourced ingredients from nearby farms, wineries, breweries, and artisan producers—capturing the flavours of the Highlands with an authentic European soul.

Events are only held monthly, thoughtfully planned ahead of time, with strictly limited places at the table – we hope to share one with you soon. Bookings are essential, we are only open on these dates, walk-ins not possible!

Venue Hire
Make our place your place! From cocktail parties to birthday bashes, your own Oktoberfest or unique corporate function, we can craft and cater an event tailored entirely to you. While our charming stone venue offers a cosy atmosphere, we can expand the experience to accommodate groups of 50, 100, or more.
